Wonder Living Furniture

If you’re walking down Sahar Road in Vile Parle, you’ll find us at Gokul Arcade. We have two units there, numbers 4 and 5. Wonder Living Furniture is a place where we keep a lot of our inventory out on display for people to see. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the sofas, dining tables, and bed frames we try to fit into the space. Sahar Road is always busy since it’s a main artery near the airport area, so there are always people peeking through the windows as they walk by to the station. We get a lot of travelers and locals because of the convenient location. I spend a lot of time moving chairs around or showing people the different types of wood and fabric we have. The floor gets scratched up pretty easily with all the heavy furniture moving, so I’m always touching up the polish or sweeping up the sawdust. It’s hard work lifting these pieces, especially when a customer wants to see a specific table that’s buried at the back of the shop. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know the stock well and handle the deliveries. Gokul Arcade is an older building, so we have to keep on top of the maintenance every few months. When it rains heavily, the sound on the roof is so loud we can barely hear the customers talking. But it’s a good spot to be in. We stay open late most days to catch people on their way home.
