Our office for Vsnl is way up on the 13th floor of the A Wing in the Royal Classic building. We’re in Shastri Nagar, right in the middle of the Lokhandwala area in Andheri West. Being in Mumbai, everything around us is always moving fast and it’s always loud outside. From Flat 1302, we get a pretty good view of the city, which is nice when you need to look away from the computer screen for a minute. The building is quite large, and sometimes waiting for the elevator takes longer than the actual drive to work. We have a pretty standard setup inside with desks and chairs and the usual office stuff. It gets quite hot in Mumbai, so we usually have the AC running all day, otherwise, we’d all melt. There’s a lot of energy in this part of town, with people constantly coming and going from the shops and cafes downstairs. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that; you just come up the lift and find our door. It’s a busy place, and we’re usually tied up with calls or paperwork throughout the day. Lunch is usually something quick from one of the local spots nearby, or someone brings a dabba from home. It’s just a regular group of people here trying to stay on top of the workload in one of the busiest cities in the world.
