Vk:I Interiors

We are up on the 6th floor of Noton Classic, which is just off Turner Road in Bandra West. It’s a pretty busy area of Mumbai, so there’s always something happening outside. Being on the sixth floor gives us a bit of a view, though it’s mostly other buildings and the tops of some trees. The office is usually a mess of fabric samples, wood chips, and color palettes. We have large tables where we spread out our plans, and they often stay there for days while we work through the details. The floor is often covered in little bits of material from whatever we were looking at last. It’s not a place that stays clean for very long, but that’s just how we work. We have a small corner where we keep our bags and coats. Most of the day is spent either on the phone with suppliers or trying to figure out how to make a certain space work better. We don't have a receptionist, so if someone comes to the door, whoever is closest just goes to answer it. It’s a very informal atmosphere here. We wear comfortable clothes and mostly just focus on getting the drawings right. Turner Road has plenty of places to grab a quick bite, so we usually rotate through the local cafes for lunch. It’s a lot of work but we just take it one project at a time.
