Vivek Polymer India

Vivek Polymer India is based in Kashimira at unit number 7. We are in an industrial area, so it isn't the cleanest or the quietest place to work. We deal with plastics and polymers, mostly making small parts for other businesses. It’s a family-run operation. My father started it and now I handle the day-to-day stuff with a few workers. The machines are old but they still work fine if you know how to handle them. We have stacks of raw material bags piled up in the corner. The office is just a small desk in the corner of the factory floor with a telephone and a lot of dusty files. It gets very hot in the summer, especially with the machines running all day long. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of big industrial fans that move the air around. Most of our work comes from word of mouth. Someone needs a specific plastic piece and they hear that we can do it. We don't have a sales team or a marketing department. We just focus on getting the orders done on time. The neighborhood is full of other small factories, so there is always the sound of trucks and machinery in the background. It is hard work, but we have been doing it for years and we know the business inside out. Sometimes we work late to finish a big batch.
