Vimal Sankheda Furniture Export operates from a space on the 4th floor of 172 D in the CGS Colony in Wadala. Being on the 4th floor means we have to do a lot of lifting and moving of things up and down, but we are used to it by now. The colony is a bit of an older residential area, so it has a different feeling than a commercial hub. We have our workshop area where we handle the furniture and an office section for all the paperwork and export details. There is often the smell of wood and polish lingering in the hallway. It is a bit of a climb to get up here, but the view of the surrounding buildings is decent. We have a lot of tools scattered around and stacks of finished pieces waiting to be sent out. It isn't a showroom, so things are often a bit messy with sawdust or packing materials. We work long hours here, especially when we have a big shipment to prepare. Our team is small, and we mostly just focus on the task at hand without much fuss. The lighting is a bit old-fashioned, and the floors are concrete, which is good for moving heavy items. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, one of us just wipes our hands and goes to answer the door. It is a very practical and hardworking environment.
