Vardhman Mobile

If you’re walking down New link Road in Goregaon West, you’ll find us at number 10. It’s a busy stretch of road, always noisy with cars and the construction work going on nearby. At Vardhman Mobile, the space is small, filled mostly with glass cases holding different phones and all those little accessories that people are always losing. We’ve got chargers hanging from hooks and screen protectors piled up. Most of the day is spent looking down at small screens or trying to explain why a battery isn’t charging right. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The shop gets a lot of light in the morning, which makes it feel bigger than it actually is. We have a small stool behind the counter that everyone shares. Usually, there’s a stack of newspapers from three days ago sitting in the corner because we don't always have time to read them. People drop in for a quick recharge or to ask for a fix, and we just do what we can with what we have. It’s a bit cramped when the delivery guys bring in new stock, and we have to shuffle boxes around. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know how to handle the tech. It’s just a regular shop where the door is always open to the street. Everything is pretty straightforward here.
