Malad West is a busy place and our office for V J Water Concepts India Pvt Ltd is right in the thick of it near Channi Jakat Naka. We are tucked away in Keya Motors Lane 4. It is a bit of a tight squeeze for larger vehicles but we have managed here for a good while. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at. We have some desks and a lot of water filter parts stacked up in the back room. Most of our days are spent talking to people about their home water systems and trying to figure out which parts they need to fix a leak or improve their drinking water. It gets quite humid in this part of Mumbai so the overhead fans are always spinning at full speed. We usually get in around nine and start by checking the messages from the night before. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with because of the spare parts inventory. The local tea seller stops by twice a day and that is when we usually take a break to sit on the plastic chairs outside. We know most of the other shop owners in Lane 4 by now. It is a noisy area with the traffic from the main road always humming in the background. We just focus on the work and try to keep things organized. It’s a simple operation and we like it that way.
