United Plastics

United Plastics is located in Jogeshwari West, which is a place that never really seems to sleep. Our workshop is full of the sound of machines clicking and the smell of melting plastic, which you get used to after a while. We make all sorts of small plastic items that people use without thinking much about them. It’s not glamorous work, and the floor is usually covered in little plastic pellets that get stuck in your shoes. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years, and we mostly just focus on getting the molds right and keeping the machines running smoothly. Sometimes a machine breaks down in the middle of a big order, and we have to spend the whole night trying to get it back online. Those nights are long and frustrating, but that’s just part of the business. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for a long time. The neighborhood around Jogeshwari is loud and busy, which fits the way we work. We just keep our heads down and try to finish the batches on time. It’s a lot of repetition, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that feels okay at the end of a long shift. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just trying to keep the production moving so everyone gets paid on time.
