Uday Plastics

You can find Uday Plastics over in the K K Gupta Industrial Estate. We are at 105 on Gill Road, specifically Street Number 7 in Mulund West. It’s an industrial area, so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving in and out. Our unit is one of the older ones in the estate. We’ve got machines that have been running for a long time. They need a lot of grease and attention to keep them going. We make plastic items, mostly for other local factories. The air inside always smells a bit like warm plastic, which I guess we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one near the door. The space is filled with bags of raw material and finished boxes waiting to be picked up. My nephew handles the inventory most days. He’s better with the computer than I am. We don't really have a lunchroom, so we usually just eat at our desks or go to the small stall down the road. It’s a straightforward operation. We get an order, we set the machines, and we produce the goods. There isn't much room for fancy stuff here. We just try to make sure everything we produce is solid and reaches the customer on time. The floor is stained and the walls could use some paint, but the work gets done every day.
