U S Travels

We started this travel business at Dhobi Talao Keshav Bhai Chawl a long time ago. Link Road is always noisy and full of traffic, so there is never a quiet moment outside our door. We mostly handle bus tickets and sometimes train bookings for people in the neighborhood. The shop is small, just enough for a couple of chairs and an old computer that sometimes takes a while to start up. People from the chawl often come in just to ask about timings or ticket prices for their hometowns. It is not a fancy office. We have some old posters on the wall that are starting to peel off around the edges. My brother and I take turns sitting here throughout the day. We have seen this road change so much over the years. It used to be much quieter before all the new buildings went up. We just do our work and head home when the sun goes down. Sometimes the printer jams right when someone is in a hurry, and it is a real headache. We do not have a website or any big advertisements. People just know we are here because we have been in this spot for so long. We keep a simple ledger for all the bookings we make. It is just a basic way to earn a living. We help with passport forms too if people bring the right papers. Every morning we open up and wait for the first person to walk in. (250 words)
