I work out of a space in Takshila, over in Anushakti Nagar. The location is near Trombay, specifically in the Sahar Cargo Estate area of Jb Nagar. If you are looking for the workshop, it’s quite close to the Anushakti Bus Depot. This place is always full of wood shavings and the sound of saws. I’ve been doing carpentry for many years now. Most of the time, I’m busy fixing broken furniture or making new cabinets for people in the neighborhood. It’s dusty work and my clothes are usually covered in sawdust by the end of the day. I don’t have a fancy showroom. People just come to the workshop with their sketches or ideas, and we talk about what can be done. I use mostly traditional tools, though I have a few power ones to speed things up. The estate is a busy place with a lot of movement, especially with the buses coming and going nearby. It’s not the quietest spot, but it’s where I get my work done. Sometimes I go out to people's houses to install things or do repairs on-site. I prefer staying at the bench and working with the wood. It’s a simple living. I just focus on making things that are sturdy and useful for the folks around here. I’ve been at this a long time and know my way around most types of wood. I usually stay here until it gets dark and then head home. It's hard work but it's what I know.
