Tools (India) Distributors

Nagdevi Cross Lane is always a bit of a mess with all the hardware and tools being moved around. We are on the second floor at number 39. You have to watch your step on the stairs because they are a bit narrow and people are often carrying boxes up and down. Tools (India) Distributors has been operating out of this room for quite some time now. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, packed with all sorts of items. It’s hard to keep it all dusted, so there is usually a bit of grime on the older stock. We still use Post Box No. 3454 for a lot of our mail. The office part is just a couple of tables shoved into the corner near the window. From there, you can see down into the lane and watch the tempo drivers arguing over parking spots. It gets very humid here in the monsoon, and the walls show a bit of dampness, but that’s just how these old buildings are. We don't have a reception desk or anything like that. If you come in, you’ll probably find one of us counting inventory or writing out invoices by hand. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it’s what we know. We close up early on Saturdays to get away from the crowd. It’s a practical space for a practical kind of job. The light in the hallway has been out for a week, but we know the way by heart.
