Tokyo Times

We have been operating out of Byculla West for quite some time now, specifically at number 10. The shop is called Tokyo Times, and though the name sounds international, we are very much a local Byculla business. We deal with watches and clocks mainly. It is a quiet kind of work, mostly sitting at the bench with a magnifying glass. Byculla is an old part of the city, and our building shows its age, but it works for us. We have all sorts of clocks on the walls, and the ticking sound is something you stop hearing after a few days of working here. People come in with old watches their grandfathers gave them, or sometimes just to get a battery changed. We do not have a huge staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the tools. The street outside can get quite loud with the trains nearby and the general bustle of the area, but inside it stays fairly calm. We do not really do much in the way of fancy displays. Most of our stock is in drawers or behind the counter glass. It is a simple setup. We like it this way because we can focus on what is in front of us. We have seen many businesses come and go in this neighborhood, but we are still here at number 10, doing the same thing we have always done. It is not a glamorous job, but it is steady and we know the local folks well.
