The warehouse is out in Kandivali West, on the Link Road at Chaokop RMC/28. If you’ve ever been down that way, you know it’s mostly industrial units and workshops. We deal with tarpaulins, so the whole place smells like heavy fabric and plastic. It’s a large, open space because we need room to spread out the big sheets. We have rolls of different colors and thicknesses stacked up to the ceiling. It can get pretty hot inside during the summer months because the roof is made of metal sheets. We keep the big sliding doors open to let the breeze in from the Link Road. When the monsoon season starts, things get very busy for us. Everyone is looking for covers for their trucks or for the roofs of their houses. We do all the cutting and stitching right here on the floor. It’s physical work and can be quite tiring on the back. My brother and I manage the orders and the workers. We have a small corner with a couple of chairs and a table where we handle the paperwork. It’s a bit dusty and there are always scraps of material on the ground. We don't have any corporate office or fancy reception area. It’s just a workspace. We've been in this location for a long time now. People know us as the place on the corner near the big junction. We just focus on getting the work done every day. It is simply what we know how to do.
