Swastik Telecom

Swastik Telecom has been a part of this Ghatkopar street for a while. We aren’t one of those big malls. It’s just a regular shop where you can get your phone sorted out. I keep a lot of different chargers and headphones in stock because people are always losing them. The floor is a bit uneven, but nobody seems to mind. I started this business because I wanted to work for myself and I knew a bit about how phones work. It’s mostly local residents who come in. We talk about the weather or the price of groceries while I’m looking at their device. It’s a friendly place. I don’t use any fancy systems, just a notebook to keep track of repairs. Sometimes it’s hard to find parts for the really old models, but I try my best to track them down. The shop gets a lot of light in the morning which is nice. I usually close up for an hour in the afternoon to have my lunch. It’s a steady rhythm. There’s no rush here. If something takes a day or two to fix, I tell them straight. People seem to appreciate that honesty. It’s just how we do things in our corner of the world. I like the fact that I don't have to travel far for work. Everything I need is right here. We stay open until late evening when the street gets quiet. It's a simple life and it works for me.
