Swastik Chair Farbrication

Swastik Chair Fabrication is based in Gala No 3/4 at Kanu Compound. We are located in Malad East, right opposite Sudha in the Lalbaug area. It's more of a workshop than an office. We spend our days welding, cutting, and fixing chairs. Most of the work is for offices or restaurants that have broken furniture. We also make some new frames from scratch when we have the materials. The compound is always full of noise from other workshops around us. It’s a very blue-collar environment, and we like it that way. You can usually find us covered in metal shavings or paint. We don't have a fancy catalog to show people. Usually, someone brings in a chair that’s falling apart and asks if we can save it. We take a look, give them a price, and get to work. Sometimes we have to go out to a customer's place if they have a lot of chairs to fix. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We’ve been at this for quite a few years now. The space is a bit small for all the equipment we have, but we make it work. Kanu Compound is one of those places where everyone is making something. You hear hammers and saws from morning until night. Being opposite Sudha in Malad East makes it easy for people to find the entrance. We have a lot of scrap metal piled up in the corner that we use for repairs. Our hands are usually stained with grease or rust, but that's the nature of fabrication work. We don't have a receptionist, so if we're in the middle of a weld, you might have to wait a minute. It’s just how it is. We’ve been part of this Lalbaug community for a long time and plan to stay. We just focus on making sure the chairs are sturdy.
