Swarn Alankar

Our shop is Swarn Alankar and you can find us over by the Cotton Exchange area. Specifically, we are on 10th Cross, 1st Main, at number 13. It is a bit tucked away, but we have been around here long enough that local people know exactly where to find us. We mostly deal with gold and jewelry things. It is a quiet kind of business compared to the busy streets you find nearby. We spend a lot of time looking at very small details and weighing things out on the scales. Some days are a bit slow and we just sit and polish things or try to organize the display cases. Other days, families come in looking for something special for a wedding or a birthday gift. It is nice to see people happy when they find something they really like. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know the trade. The lighting inside has to be very bright so we can see what we are doing with the small links and stones. Outside, the 10th Cross can get a bit crowded with traffic, but inside it stays pretty calm most of the time. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. New buildings are coming up and old ones are going down. But we stay right here at number 13. We like the routine of it all. Opening up the shutters in the morning is just how our day starts.
