Surya Wood Art

Surya Wood Art is our workshop located at number 4 on Kazi Syed Street in Andheri East. We are right across the road from Mukanda Hospital, which makes it pretty easy for anyone trying to find us for the first time. Our day usually starts early, getting the wood ready and checking on the projects we have going. It’s a hands-on kind of place, so there’s always sawdust on the floor and the smell of cut timber in the air. We do all sorts of wood carving and custom work right here in this shop. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the saws are running, but we enjoy the work. The street outside can get quite congested with all the hospital traffic and people moving around, but inside we just focus on what’s on the workbench. We aren’t a big factory or anything; it’s just a local shop where we put things together by hand. Some days are busier than others, depending on what orders come in. We’ve been in Andheri for a while and have gotten to know a lot of the other shop owners on the street. People come to us when they want something made of wood that isn't just mass-produced stuff from a big store. It’s a simple business, really.
