My shop is located right at Shop Number 1, 165 on Tribhuvan Road in Byculla. It’s in the Masjid Chawl area, which is always busy with people coming and going. If you know where the Jai Hind Cinema is, we are very close to that spot. Also, Chinchpokli is nearby and we’re just opposite Nirmal Park. It’s a very local kind of place. I’ve been running things here for a long time. People around here know me by name. I mostly deal with daily items and things people need for their homes or small businesses. The shop isn't very big, so things are stacked up pretty high to make use of the space. It can be a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. I open up early in the morning because that’s when the neighborhood starts moving. Byculla has changed a lot over the years, but this corner stays pretty much the same. I don't have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop. Most of my customers are regulars who live in the buildings or chawls nearby. We talk about the weather or local news while I get their stuff ready. It’s a simple way of doing business but it suits me fine. I like being near the park because it gives a bit of green to look at when I step outside for a break. It's just me and sometimes a helper getting through the day without much stress.
