I’m based over at Mulla House, room 205, in the Fort Bhavani Society. It’s right in the Fort area, so it’s quite a central spot, though it gets very crowded during the day. The building itself has a lot of history and the hallways are a bit narrow and dim. I’ve been in this office for years. It’s a small space, filled with books and old files that I haven't quite gotten around to organizing perfectly. Most people come here because they know the address or they’ve been told where to find me. There’s no big neon sign or anything like that out front. You just come up the stairs and look for number 51. The windows look out onto the street, so there’s always the sound of traffic and people shouting below. It can be a bit distracting, but I’ve grown used to it. My desk is usually covered in papers, and there’s barely enough room for a visitor to sit down, but we make it work. It’s a very traditional way of working, I suppose. I don't have a receptionist or a big staff. It's just me handling the daily tasks and meeting whoever drops by. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and everything stops, but that’s just part of being in an old part of the city. It’s a quiet, busy life in a very old building.
