Sunshine Art Furniture

Sunshine Art Furniture is based out of Malad West. We’ve been in the Malad area for quite some time now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Our workshop and space are always filled with the smell of cut wood and polish. It’s a bit of a dusty environment, but that’s part of making furniture. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. Instead, you'll see pieces in different stages of being finished. Some might be just frames while others are getting their final coat of paint or varnish. Malad West is a busy part of the city, and there’s always a lot of movement outside our doors. We spend our days measuring, cutting, and putting things together. It’s physical work and our hands usually have some stains or nicks from the tools. We aren't big on fancy talk or complicated business plans. We just like making things that people can actually use in their homes. Sometimes we sit out front for a break and watch the traffic go by on the Malad streets. It’s a loud place, but it feels right for the kind of work we do. People from around the neighborhood stop by to ask about a table or a chair they need. We just tell them what we can do and how long it’ll take. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We have some wood scraps in the corner and a radio playing most of the afternoon.
