Sundaram

Sundaram has been sitting here on Dr Ambedkar Road in Andheri West for a long time. People usually find us easily because this road is always packed with cars and people walking to the station. We've seen the shops around us change names and owners so many times, but we’re still here in the same spot. The address says 41337, but locals just look for the familiar door. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep everything people might need on the shelves. Sometimes things get a little disorganized, especially on Monday mornings when everyone is in a rush. We don't really do the whole fancy display thing. It’s more about knowing where everything is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. The fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking sound that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We mostly just talk to the regulars who stop by on their way home from work. It’s nice seeing the same faces every day. We don't spend money on big ads or anything. Most of the people who come here do it because their parents used to come here too. It’s just a simple shop where we try to get through the day and help out whoever walks through the door. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the door propped open with a brick.
