Space Computers

We set up Space Computers at Om Niwas a good few years back. It’s located near Rangari Chawl on Muktadevi Wadi Road. If you know the Sion-Chunabhatti area, you probably passed by us. We mostly fix laptops and sell some parts. The shop is small, tucked into the 4/5 unit. It’s usually dusty because of all the old hardware lying around. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and trying to figure out why someone's hard drive crashed. It's not a flashy showroom. We have some shelves with keyboards and mice, but it's mostly a workspace. People bring in their computers when they stop working or get too slow. We tell them what's wrong and how much it costs to fix. Sometimes we can't find the part right away, so it takes a few days. The neighborhood is quite lively, so there’s always noise coming in from the street. We drink a lot of tea while we work. It’s a simple operation. We aren't part of some big chain, just a local spot for tech help in Mumbai. Stop by if your screen is flickering or if you need a cable. We’re usually here until late evening. Sometimes the power cuts out for a minute and we have to wait for the generator. It's just part of being in this part of Mumbai. We hope to keep the shop going as long as computers keep breaking.
