Soma Stationery

I’ve been coming to this spot in Vidyaranyapura for a while now to get things ready for the day. The 6th block of B.E.L Layout has its own rhythm, and being here on 4th main, you really see it all happening outside the window. Soma Stationery isn't some big fancy warehouse with robots. It’s mostly just us sitting around stacks of notebooks and those cardboard boxes of ballpoint pens that came in yesterday morning. We spend a lot of our time just moving things from one corner to the other to make enough space to walk. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck because the lane is too narrow for it to turn properly. That’s just how it is around here. People come in looking for specific things, maybe a certain type of glue for a project or a brand of pencil their kid needs for school. We try to keep things organized but the back room gets a bit messy when we are busy. The shelves are high and the floor is a bit uneven in the back corner. We keep the lights on even when it is quiet because you never know when someone will pop in for a quick photocopy. It’s mostly just making sure the stock is there and the ledger is updated. The tea shop next door brings over a glass around eleven, which is usually the highlight of our morning. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept.
