Down at Kasar Compound in Andheri East, things stay pretty hectic. We’ve got our spot right on the Main Road, so it’s easy to find but the traffic is usually a nightmare. Solanki Traders is basically where we manage all the daily buying and selling. It’s a typical trader’s life. Lots of paperwork, lots of loading and unloading, and plenty of tea to keep us going through the afternoon. The space isn't huge, but we make it work by stacking things high against the walls. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the compound stays more or less the same. We handle a variety of goods depending on what’s in demand. It’s not a place for browsing; it’s a place where people come when they need to get business done quickly. My desk is usually covered in receipts and half-empty pens. We don’t have a fancy reception area. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free. Most of our days are spent on the phone or talking to delivery drivers who are in a hurry. Sometimes the rain gets into the front area if we don't watch the shutters, but that's just part of being in Mumbai. We keep it simple. No one here wears a suit. We’re just regular people trying to keep the inventory moving and making sure the orders go out to the right places. It’s a lot of manual work and checking lists twice. That’s how we’ve always done it here. It's nothing special, just work.
