Sohanlal Aswinkumar & Co is situated in the Kalbadevi Pydhonie area, which everyone knows is one of the busiest parts of the city. Our office is in Bihari Baug, specifically 48/c on the ground floor. It is tucked away near the 3rd-bh section, so you have to look closely at the building names. Being on the ground floor is a big help when we have to move goods in and out because the stairs in these old buildings can be a real pain. We handle a lot of wholesale stuff and there is always something being loaded onto a cart outside. The space is filled with stacks of ledgers and old wooden furniture that has been here since we started. It’s not the quietest place to work with all the shouting and horns from the street, but you get used to it after a week or two. We have a small staff and everyone just does a bit of everything to keep things running. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. We just focus on getting the orders recorded and the customers sorted out. It’s a traditional way of doing business where you know your neighbors and the tea stall guy knows exactly how you like your drink. That is just how we operate in Mandvi. We have been here for years and we don't plan on moving anytime soon because this is where the market is.
