Simple Thought Films

Simple Thought Films operates out of Dahisar Market Yard, at B/202 on Laxm An Mathre Road. It’s a bit of a walk from the main station, tucked away where all the trucks and loaders are moving around. Our space is mostly just a couple of rooms filled with computer towers and monitors that stay glowing late into the night. It gets pretty dark in here because we keep the curtains shut to avoid glare on the screens. There are hard drives scattered all over the desks and half-empty cups of tea everywhere. The market outside is always noisy, which can be a bit much when we are trying to listen to audio, so we use heavy headphones most of the time. It’s not a polished film studio with white walls; it’s more of a workshop where we piece stories together. We spend hours looking at the same few seconds of footage until it feels right. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we just sit around waiting for things to upload. It’s just a few of us here, and we usually end up ordering food from the little stall downstairs. The building is a bit worn out, but it’s got a good feel to it. We don’t really have meetings here; we just sit and work. It’s a messy, busy place but it’s where everything happens for us. We just take it day by day and try to finish the edits on time.
