Shweta Interior

At Shweta Interior, we spend our days in Shop No 29 at Acme Amay. This is in the Vishwesh part of Goregaon East, specifically near C P Chawl on Shamseth Street. It’s a busy little corner. We deal with cabinets, woodwork, and all the stuff that goes into a home. The shop is full of samples and wood dust most of the time. We aren't those high-end designers you see on TV. We are just local people who know how to put a room together. Sometimes people come in with just a rough idea written on a piece of paper. We look at it and see what we can do. It's practical work. We spend a lot of time on sites too, not just in the shop. Goregaon is always changing, with new buildings going up, so there is always something to do. We don't have a big staff, just a few guys who know their way around a saw and a hammer. We've been in this spot for a while, and the neighbors on Shamseth Street are like family. We don't use fancy computer programs much, mostly just pencils and measuring tapes. It’s about making things fit in small Mumbai apartments. That’s what we do, day in and day out, right here in the chawl area. It's hard work, but we like seeing a room come together at the end.
