The shop has been here in Chembur for a good while now, right near RCF Gate No 3. If you walk down the 7th Cross in Subbanna Garden, you’ll likely hear us before you see us. There is always the sound of metal being moved or someone hammering something into place. It’s not a quiet place to work, but it gets the job done. We started Shri Ambica Steel Furniture because there was a need for stuff that doesn't break the first time you use it. Most of the days are spent moving heavy cupboards or fixing up racks for shops nearby. The air usually smells like paint and cut iron. It’s a small team here, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of our things are stacked up in the back or right out front where people can see them as they walk by. Sometimes the traffic on 7th Main Road makes it hard to unload the trucks, but we manage. My father used to say that steel lasts longer than most things in this life, and he wasn't wrong. We just keep doing what we know. People come in asking for custom sizes, and we try to figure out how to make it fit. It’s simple work, really. No big secrets to it. Just metal and some hard work every day.
