Shrestha Traders

We are at Shop No-4 in Sambhaji Nagar, right on Shiv Vallabh Road. If you know the Ashok Van area in Dahisar East, we aren't hard to find. It’s a pretty busy street with lots of people walking by all day. I sell various trading goods, mostly stuff for building or home repairs. It’s a small shop, so I have to stack things all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes I worry the whole pile might come down if I pull the wrong box. I’ve been in Dahisar for about ten years now. The neighborhood has changed a lot, with more buildings going up everywhere. I see the same faces every morning when I open the shutters. I try to keep the place organized, but it’s difficult when you have so many small items like screws, pipes, and tools. I don't have a big staff, just me and a young lad who helps with the heavy lifting. We spend a lot of time chatting with customers who aren't quite sure what they need for their sink or their wall. I’m not a salesperson, I just tell them what usually works and what doesn’t. It’s an honest way to make a living. The traffic outside is always loud, but you get used to it after a while. I stay open until late evening most days.
