Mahalaxmi Enterprises

You can find us at Gala No 934 in Sardar Valabhbhai Patil Nagar. We are right in the Kokari Agar area near the Masjid in Sion. Mumbai is always crowded and our spot is no different. Mahalaxmi Enterprises operates out of this small gala where space is always tight. We have boxes stacked up to the ceiling most days. It’s a bit of a maze getting around the shelves. The area is always humming with people moving stuff and the sound of the city. We have been here for a long time, dealing with the daily grind. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we usually have the door wide open. People stop by on their way to the Masjid or just passing through the lane. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby. It is just a workspace where we get things sorted and sent out. Sometimes the traffic in Sion makes deliveries a real headache, but we’ve learned to work around it. My nephew helps me with the lifting and the local deliveries. We use a lot of handwritten notes to keep track of things. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us going. There’s no big philosophy here, just working hard in a small space and making sure the customers get what they asked for. We usually close up shop once the evening prayers start and the street starts to quiet down a bit. The neighborhood is always alive with the sound of motorcycles and vendors.
