Shreenath Trader

We operate out of a small space in Abdullapur Basti in Malad East. It is a very busy part of the suburbs, and there is always a lot of activity around our shop at number 17. Our business is focused on trading, which means our day is mostly about managing stock and talking to people. The place isn't very big, so we have to be quite careful about how we stack things. It can get very hot and humid in Malad, and we only have a couple of fans to keep the air moving. When the monsoon hits, the lanes in the basti can get quite muddy, which makes moving goods in and out a real challenge. We don't have any corporate office or fancy reception area. It is just a desk, a phone, and the goods we are trading. We have lived and worked in this area for years, so we know all the local shortcuts and the people who live nearby. Most of our work is done through word of mouth and long-standing relationships with other traders. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but it is what we know. We start early in the morning and often stay until late in the evening to make sure all the orders are processed. It is a simple, no-nonsense way of doing business in a very crowded part of the city.
