You’ll find Shree Ashpura Mobile & Watch Gallery down on Navghar Road in Bhandup West, specifically at number 11. We do a mix of things here, which is why the name says mobile and watch gallery. It started out with just watches years ago, but then mobiles became such a big deal that we had to include them. Now, we spend half our time changing watch batteries and the other half looking at phone software. It’s a funny mix, seeing an old mechanical watch next to a new smartphone on the workbench. The shop is cozy, and the neighbors on Navghar Road are good people. We see a lot of the same folks every week. Some come in just to ask a question about their watch strap or why their phone is acting slow. We don't mind. It keeps the day interesting. The street can get a bit noisy with the bikes and the rain during monsoon makes everything a mess, but we stay dry inside. We have these glass cases filled with different watch designs and some phone cases. It’s nothing like those mall stores. It’s a local Bhandup spot where we treat everyone like a neighbor. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Mumbai. We just want to do our job well so people come back next time their watch stops ticking or their phone screen cracks. We keep our tools organized, mostly, though the workbench is always a bit of a disaster by closing time. We usually pack everything up around eight and head home.
