Tanish Mart

Tanish Mart is located at B/105 in Shiv Tower. We are right near the Sagar Sangam Hotel, which is a big landmark in this area. Our shop is a typical local mart where we sell all the basic things people need every day. We carry stuff like pulses, rice, soaps, and snacks. It’s not a huge place, so we have to be very careful about how we stack the items on the shelves. Sometimes things get a bit crowded, especially when a new delivery arrives and we haven't put it all away yet. We’ve been running this mart for a while now and we know almost everyone who lives in the Shiv Tower building. It’s nice because it feels more like a community than just a business. We aren't like those big supermarkets where nobody talks to you. We usually have a bit of a chat with whoever comes in. We don't have a computerized system for everything, so we just count things up and tell you the total. It’s a bit old-fashioned but it works for us and our customers don’t seem to mind. We stay open late most nights because we know people often forget to buy something for dinner. We don't have any big goals of becoming a giant chain; we are just happy running our little shop here near the hotel and serving the neighborhood. It keeps us busy.
