Shiv Shiva Ayurveda

Shiv Shiva Ayurveda is tucked away in Gala No. 13 over at Plot 102E. It’s inside the Siddiqui Mohammad Compound, which is a bit of a maze if you aren’t from around here. We’re right near the Worli Fire Brigade, so you can often hear the sirens when the trucks head out. The air around our place usually smells like dried leaves and some of the stronger powders we use. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s more of a workshop where we keep the jars and bags of herbs. The floor is concrete and we have a few old wooden tables where everything gets sorted. My cousin helps me out most days, though he’s always complaining about the heat in the afternoons. Old Prabhadevi Road is always jammed, so we mostly stay inside and focus on the work. Sometimes people wander in asking for directions because the compound has so many units, but mostly it’s just us. We spend a lot of time grinding things down or measuring out portions for the packets. It’s dusty work, and your hands end up smelling like turmeric or sandalwood for days. We don’t use any big machines, just the basic stuff that works. The building is old, and the light isn't great, but it’s home for the business. We keep the registers by hand because the computer is too slow anyway. It's just a simple life.
