Shilpa Trading Company

We run Shilpa Trading Company out of a gala in the Seksaria Industrial Estate in Malad West. The address is Gala No 19 A/63. It’s a typical industrial area, so it’s usually quite busy with trucks and workers moving things around. Our space is basically a large room filled with crates, pallets, and whatever stock we happen to have that week. We deal in a variety of goods that other businesses and workshops need. It’s a very hands-on job. We spend a lot of time moving boxes and checking the labels. It can get a bit dusty because of all the activity in the estate, so we are always cleaning things off. We have a small wooden desk in one corner where we keep our logbooks and a telephone. There isn't any air conditioning, so we keep the big shutters open to get a breeze. We don't bother with any advertising. People in the trade know where we are and what we carry. It’s an honest, hard-working environment. We’ve been in this same gala for a long time and we’ve seen many other businesses come and go. We just focus on keeping our inventory organized and making sure our regulars get what they need without any hassle. Sometimes we have a quick lunch sitting on the packing crates when it gets really busy. It’s just how we do things here in the industrial estate.
