Our office for Sharda Corporation is up on the first floor of Shrinivas Co-Op Housing Limited. It is right there on C.P. Tank Road, which anyone will tell you is one of the busiest streets you can find in this area. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step coming up to visit us. We are in units 101 to 103, and it’s basically a maze of files and old wooden desks. We handle things for Hotremai as well, so there is always a lot of mail and different documents to sort through. The windows don’t keep the city noise out very well, so you always hear the horns and the shouting from the street below. We have a few fans going all the time to circulate the air because it gets stuffy with all the paper around. It isn't a fancy corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It feels more like a lived-in space where people have been working for many years. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we just wait it out while talking. The walls are painted a dull color that has faded over time. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the paperwork that keeps piling up on the desks. It’s a practical place for us to get the work done without any extra fuss. People come in with questions and we find the right folders for them.
