Shams Auto Engineering Works

Our place is in Ghatkopar East, inside the Radha Park Society on Pal Gam Road. It is a bit of a trek to get here if you aren't from the area, but the locals know us well. We do auto engineering, so our hands are almost always black with engine oil. We spend our days under car hoods or working on parts that have been stripped down. The workshop isn't very big, so we have to be careful about how we park the vehicles coming in. It can get a bit disorganized when we have too many jobs at once, but we eventually find every bolt and nut. Radha Park is a decent area, but the road gets quite dusty in the summer. We have a small radio that plays music in the background to keep us going while we work. Most of our customers are people from the neighborhood who have known us for years. They come to us because they know we will just tell them what’s wrong without any extra talk. We don't have a waiting room with magazines or coffee. Usually, people just stand around and chat with us while we work on their cars. It’s a simple life, really. We like working with our hands and seeing a machine run smoothly again after it was broken. If you’re coming down Pal Gam Road, just look for the shop with the tires outside, and that’s probably us. We stay busy and that is enough.
