Amit Engineers

Amit Engineers is tucked away in the Azmi Compound in Sakinaka. Our unit is number 25. To find us, you have to head down Kherani Road and then look for Durga Mandir Road. If you know Andheri East, you know how congested it gets. There are always tempos and trucks trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes around the compound. It’s a bit of a chaotic place, but there’s a lot of energy too. Our shop is small and packed with metal parts and old tools. We do a lot of basic engineering and repair work. It’s the kind of place where your hands are always dirty. We don’t have an air conditioner, just a few ceiling fans that buzz all day. When it rains, the noise on the roof is deafening, and we have to be careful about the water coming in under the door. We’ve been in this compound for years, so we know all the other shop owners. We usually share a tea in the mornings before the real work starts. It’s not a polished business environment at all. We just have our workbenches and a few chairs for when we need to sit down and look at a part. It’s a humble setup, but it’s our own. We just get through the day’s list and try to stay ahead of the traffic when it’s time to go home.
