Shakti Tiles Taps

If you walk around Kandivali West near the ground floor of the Shree building, you’ll find us at shop number two. Shakti Tiles Taps is basically what it says on the door. The shop is usually filled with stacks of ceramic tiles and boxes of taps that we’ve moved around a dozen times to make space. It gets a bit cramped in here when a new shipment arrives, and we have to stack things carefully so nothing chips or breaks. Dealing with tiles is heavy work, and our backs feel it by the end of the day. We get a lot of local people from the nearby apartments coming in because they have a leaky faucet or they’re finally fixing up that old bathroom floor. It’s not a shiny showroom like the ones you see in the big malls. We just have the stuff people actually use in their homes every day. Most of the time, the floor is covered in a bit of white dust from the tiles, and there’s always a conversation going on about which tap fits which pipe. We know the neighborhood well and the buildings around here have similar plumbing, so we usually know what someone needs before they finish explaining. It’s a steady life here in Kandivali, just keeping the shop open and helping neighbors find the right parts for their renovations without any big fuss or complicated talk.
