Santosh Farm

Even though the name is Santosh Farm, we are actually based in Room 907 of Raheja Chambers on Free Press Journal Marg. Being in Nariman Point means we are surrounded by high-rise buildings and corporate offices instead of open fields. This is the place where all the paperwork and the business side of the farm get handled. We don't have any crops growing here, just desks and a lot of filing cabinets full of records. Our office is a bit small and often feels crowded because of all the boxes stored in the corners. Most of the time, we are on the phone with suppliers or checking on how things are going back at the land. Nariman Point is always a rush of people and traffic, which is a world away from the actual farming work. We have to coordinate everything from this one small room, which can be a bit of a challenge. The windows don’t open, so we rely on the building’s air conditioning to keep the place cool. For our breaks, we just have a small kettle for making tea and that’s it. It’s a lot of sitting and looking at spreadsheets, which is very different from physical labor. We have been in this same building for many years now, and we have a steady routine of coffee and phone calls. It’s a practical way to manage the business from the city.
