Sagar Mobile Centre

We have been sitting here at Sagar Mobile Centre in Kalbadevi for a good while now. Our spot is at 5th Block, 3rd Main 307, and if you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets. The shop isn't fancy, just some glass counters and shelves full of phones and chargers. Most days start around ten when we roll up the shutter and see what the morning brings. Sometimes it’s a cracked screen, other times it’s someone looking for a cheap backup phone. We spend a lot of time just sorting through stock or talking to the people who walk in off the street. The fan stays on all day because it gets stuffy with all the electronics. It is just a regular place where we work. There is always noise from the street outside, horns honking and people shouting, but we are used to it by now. We keep our tools on the back bench where the light is better. Sometimes the coffee guy comes by around four and that is my favorite part of the afternoon. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that, just this room in Kalbadevi where we handle mobiles. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the cables get tangled up behind the counter. It's just how a small shop goes. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years but we stay right here on the 3rd Main.
