You can find us over at Kalbadevi on R A K Road, inside Unit No 209 of the Niranjan building. Being so close to Marine Drive, you might think it is a quiet spot, but Kalbadevi is anything but quiet. It is a constant rush of people and goods being moved around. Our space is filled with mill stones of different sizes and weights. These things are incredibly heavy and moving them around requires a lot of effort and sometimes a bit of shouting to get everyone in the right position. We have been at this location for years, and the walls show the age of the building. It is a practical workplace where we handle orders for various grinding needs. We don't have a big sign or a polished entrance. You just walk in and see the stones stacked up against the walls. The logistics of getting these stones delivered through the narrow streets of Kalbadevi is always a challenge, especially when the rains start and the roads get slick. We just keep track of the inventory and talk to the transporters who come in and out all day. It is a steady, slow kind of business that relies on the weight and quality of the stone itself to get the job done right.
