Saad Polymers

Saad Polymers is located right on Vijay Cross Road in Dharavi. It’s a busy area and there is always some noise or something going on outside our front door. We work with different kinds of polymer materials and plastic scraps here. The space is a bit tight because we have several machines squeezed into the unit. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially when the machines have been running for several hours straight. We have been in this part of Dharavi for a long time now. Everyone around this corner knows the spot. We mostly deal with making basic plastic items or processing raw materials for other local shops. The floors are usually covered in some dust or small scraps from the production line. We clean up at the end of the day, but it just gets messy again the next morning. My brother and I manage all the daily stuff ourselves. We talk to the suppliers and make sure we have enough material for the week. Sometimes the power goes out in the area and we have to wait around for it to come back. That’s just part of the job here. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It is just a few of us making sure the orders are ready on time. The road can be a bit narrow for big trucks to get through, so we have to watch out for the traffic.
