S K Furniture

We have been here at Abdul Rashid Compound for quite a while now. Most people know us because we are right opposite the Ramleela Maidan on Kherani Road in Lonikand. It is a busy spot, but we like it here. S K Furniture started out small. We mostly make things that people need for their houses, like wooden cupboards or simple beds and dining tables. Sometimes the workshop gets a bit dusty, but that is just how it goes when you are working with wood all day long. My brother and I usually handle the orders ourselves. If you walk in, you will see us measuring planks or fixing some upholstery. We do not have a fancy showroom with big glass windows or air conditioning. It is just a practical space where we get the job done. Often, neighbors from Tal Haveli drop by just to ask about a repair or to see what we are building that week. We use local materials when we can. Lonikand has changed a lot since we opened, but we are still in the same place. If you are coming from the main road, just look for the sign near the compound entrance. We are usually there from morning until late evening, unless there is a power cut or something. We just try to make stuff that stays sturdy and doesn't fall apart after a month. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We don't need much else besides our tools and some good wood to keep going.
