S. A. Industries

Our shop is in Essa Mansion, right on Byculla Station Road. It’s shop number 5, and it’s a small place compared to some of the big factories you see. Being so close to the station means there is a constant stream of people passing by our door from early morning until late at night. At S. A. Industries, we’ve gotten used to the noise of the trains and the crowds. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have a lot of stuff packed into the space, but we know where every single tool is. We don't have a lot of room for a fancy office, so most of our business happens right there at the front counter. It’s a busy life in Byculla. We’ve been here at number 26 for a long time, and we know many of the other shopkeepers on the road. We don’t really do anything special to attract attention. People just drop in when they need something made or fixed. We talk to them, figure out what they want, and then we get to it. It’s a very practical way of living. Some days are slower than others, but there’s always something that needs cleaning or organizing. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. We are just a local shop in a crowded building, doing what we know how to do best. It’s not fancy, but it’s our living. The tea man comes by twice a day, and that’s our main break.
