Setting up at 20 Kamal Kunj Building has its own set of challenges, especially being in Malad East. Rudresh Gowda Traders isn't a big corporate office with a reception desk. It’s more of a place where things get moved around and phone calls happen all day long. Being near the Gurudwara at Ballard Estate makes it easier for people to find us since the roads can get a bit confusing if you aren't from around here. We deal with a lot of different people every day. Some are regulars and some just heard about us from someone else. The building itself is older, and you can see the wear and tear on the walls, but it serves its purpose for what we do. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. Most of our time goes into checking the stock and making sure the numbers on the papers match what’s on the floor. It can get loud outside with the traffic and the usual noise of the city, but we are used to it by now. We usually have tea delivered from the stall down the street twice a day. It’s just how we run things. Nothing too complicated or formal. We just want to get through the daily tasks and make sure the customers get what they came for without too much fuss. It's a living, and we've been doing it this way for quite some time now.
