Royal Computers

The office is over on Goa Street, specifically in 4/A Sant Niwas, which is part of the old Fort area. It’s a classic Mumbai building, kind of tall and narrow with those stairs that make your legs ache by the end of the week. Royal Computers isn't a massive showroom or anything. It's more of a workspace where there are always cables hanging around and half-opened computer towers sitting on the benches. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and trying to figure out why things aren't working. The light in Sant Niwas isn't the best, so we have a lot of tube lights everywhere to see what we're doing. It gets dusty pretty fast because of all the fans and the street outside, so we’re always wiping things down. People from the nearby offices often drop by when they have a problem or need a part. We don't have a uniform or a script; we just talk to people like normal and try to fix what’s broken. Some days are slow and we just sit around drinking tea, and other days everyone shows up at once and it’s a bit of a mess. It’s a small team here, and we’ve all been working together long enough to know how to stay out of each other's way in the small room. We just get on with it and try to keep everything running for the folks nearby.
