Rhea Plastics

Rhea Plastics is located at 347-B in Lower Parel. This area has changed a lot over the years, with all the new buildings going up, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We work with plastics every day, mostly molding and shaping things as they come in. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but it’s not too bad if the weather is okay. Inside 347-B, it’s mostly just shelves and our workbenches. We don’t have a big reception area or anyone to answer phones all day. Usually, if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. The floor is concrete and gets pretty cold in the winter, though that’s not really a problem most of the year in Mumbai. We’ve been in Lower Parel for quite some time now. You can see the big towers from our window, which is a bit of a contrast to what we do here. We just focus on getting the plastic pieces right. Sometimes the machines act up, and we have to spend a couple of hours fixing a belt or cleaning out a jam. It’s just part of the job. We keep a stack of old ledgers by the door to track everything. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just like to get the work done and head home when the sun goes down.
