Reliance Plastic

Our place is located in Dharavi, specifically at A22 on the 60 Feet Road inside the Dawood Compound. If you know the area, you know it’s always busy and there’s never a quiet moment. We work with plastic, so there’s often that specific smell of material being processed and the sound of machinery humming in the background. The floor is usually covered with scraps or bags of pellets ready for the machines. It’s a hardworking environment, and it gets quite warm during the summer months despite the fans we have going. We don't have a front office or a waiting room. If you come to see us, you’ll walk right into where the action is. We’ve got a small area with a table where we keep the books and take our meals. Most of our day is spent making sure the production is moving along and the quality is okay. It’s a bit messy, but that’s just the nature of what we do here. The compound is full of other businesses too, so there’s always trucks and people moving around outside. We’ve been here for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change, but our work stays pretty much the same. It’s a tough, honest living in a part of Mumbai that never sleeps. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready on time.
